In
’Ayurvedic’ treatment, ‘Pathya’
(Dietary modifications & restrictions) is given high
importance. Do I have to stick to ‘Pathya’ for
a lifetime? |
| |
It is extremely important to
understand that ‘Pathya’ in Ayurveda is considered
to be ‘Half the treatment’ due to which our body
is not only protected from the disease but also recovers from
it very fast. However, during the treatment, it is mandatory
to observe ‘Pathya’. After recovering from illness,
you may go a little lenient on it.

When one should do ‘Panchakarma’?
Who should do it? |
| |
Ideally, a healthy person must
do ‘Panchakarma’ through a proper Panchakarma
center to keep himself healthy & fit. If there is a chronic
illness, one must first undergo Panchakarma to cleanse &
detoxify his body. This makes his body system more compatible
to the oncoming treatment. A person of any age – even
a child can undergo the same. Any one of the Panchakarma can
be done too. A particular season is recommended for a particular
Panchakarma. This further increases the efficacy of Panchakarma.

Will I feel exhausted or
too tired after the treatment of ‘Raktamokshana’? |
| |
The patient is told to have some
food before Raktamokshana. Most importantly, during this Panchakarma,
only 20 to 50 ml blood is drawn. A quantity so little will
never ever induce any kind of weakness.

 |
Does any pain occur during
inserting the Acupressure needle or the ‘Basti’
tube? |
| |
Needles used for Acupuncture
are extremely fine in shape & sharpness. They are used
by trained & certified therapists. Except a mild pinch
in the beginning, no other discomfort is experienced.
During ‘Basti’ too, a herbal lubricant is used
& the entire apparatus is handled by a certified professional.
No feeling of discomfort whatsoever is experienced.

 |
Will I experience dehydration
or excess loss of water after ‘Vaman’ or ‘Virechan’? |
| |
Before this Panchakarma,
suitable diet is administered & medicated ‘Ghrita’
(Clarified Butter) is given. This prevents dehydration. Even
after ‘Vaman’ or ‘Virechan’, if the
patient feels thirsty, a special concoction of water treated
with rice flakes mixed with rock salt is given. This eliminates
totally any chances of dehydration. |
